Happy Fathers Day

Dad is the most Godly man I personally know. He is the greatest influence in my life, and I am so glad I’m lucky enough to call him Dad. He is always there when I need help with anything I am doing. He is the rock of our family that holds us together. He keeps the roof over our head and food on our table. I am so grateful for having such a strong, Godly man as my father.

My dad has been there through it all. From when I was in the NICU to now, he has never given up on me. He’s taught me how to stand on my own two feet but also to ask for help when I need it. He’s shown me that once I put my heart into something like school to never give up and do it to the complete best of my ability. He’s shown me to be patient with others and that a simple hug can make all the difference.

Mark Waters… how can I even put into the words what this man means to me and our children?  This will be inadequate but I’ll make an effort.I met Mark when we were both 17 and dated until we married at age 21.  We started our family when we were 22, inviting our precious Ryan into the world.  At 24 we welcomed Princess and at 26 we finished our perfect little family with Reuben.  Mark was hands on from the minute Ryan was born!  He has always gone above and beyond as a Dad!  Our lives here in this home revolve around each other, which wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for Mark taking the roll of husband and father to heart like he has.  He is a rock and I am blessed to call him my husband and the father of our children!

Thank you for everything you do for me. Thank you for always pushing me to strive for my very best in everything that I do. Thank you for always being there for me no matter what. Thank you for always giving me advice and listening to me when I have a problem. I know that I don’t always show it but I appreciate everything that you do for Momma, Krista and me. Thank you for always working so hard to give us a good life. I don’t know what I would do without you! I love you and hope you have a great Fathers Day!

Dear Dad:

I have so much I want to thank you for. You have given the vitality of life to me through your instruction as a child, discipline as a teenager and continued support as a man. I want to thank you for the tradition of Saturday morning pancakes that are now a part of my own family.

For the times when I was wrong and my conduct was unbecoming that of being called your son. For the times that you held me and comforted me. For the times that you disciplined in such a way that I always knew you loved me. For this I say, “Thanks Dad.”

I appreciate the hard work you did. The hours of study, the hours of visitation with your flock. The way you did not let your frustration get you down even when it seemed the whole world was against you.

As I child I never quite understood why we were always moving and uprooting our family. Now as an adult, I fully understand that to follow Christ is to obey Him, even when we do not know why. I thank you for your obedience, for it is “In Him” that your love toward me will continue to guide and instruct.

It is for one particular gift that you gave that I am most thankful. It was not yours to give but only to provide. That provision was presented in the introducing of Jesus Christ. For the gift was given in God’s Grace. It was your example of Christian faith that helps me, still, understand more fully the Grace I do not deserve.

I remember many years ago, you stated how much you miss Papa. That even though you miss him so much, the first thing you want to do when you get to heaven is meet Jesus. After you have your questions answered then you are going to spend eternity with Papa. You told me this before Granny died. I picture in my mind’s eye your arrival at the “Pearly Gates”. And right behind St. Peter stands not only Papa and Granny, but all your brothers and sisters, and my John Andrew. All with a big smile and arms stretched out to welcome you home.

Tell them I miss them all and will be there someday. For now it is my turn to wait. I will see you again. Until then I have a life to live, a family to raise and our God to follow.

Thanks for being my Dad and my example of faithfulness, a hero of the faith. Now that you are gone I pray that I can carry this mantle you have provided and pass it on to your grandchildren.

I Love You and Will Forever Miss You!!

You are the absolute best dad a girl could ask for. I owe you so much
(not only with money ). You have always been there to talk things through with
me, calm me down, make sure I feel loved, and sooo much more. There are no words
that could adequately explain how much I love you and how much you mean to me.

Thank you so much for your unconditional love. You are my twin. We love the same everything! You’re my encourager. You’re my leader. You’re the example of the husband I hope to have. You’re faith inspires me every day. You’re heart makes me want to love more people. You’re hard work pushes me to try harder. I can’t express to you what it means to have such a Godly father for us to look up to. Thank you for always questioning my friends (even though sometimes I hate it) to make sure they are in the right place in life. My friends adore you.

Thank you for always being there for me no matter what. You always want the best for us. That means so much to me. Thank you for always being the most supportive dad we could ever ask for. Every job/major I have thought to be one day, you have pushed me to go for it. I love that you are always there for us for anything we need. Thank you for always transferring money when I need it ☺ and always being on me when my account is low. You’re always looking out for us.

I can’t thank you enough for loving me so much. I hope one day my future husband will be the father you are.

I will always treasure the times you came back and apologized for my spankings, when we gardened together, when we went on fishing trips (and Reed fell in), when we ate peppers together, when you taught me how to ski, when you surprised us with a snack every time we got off the bus, when you snuck money to me, when we ate bad stuff the times mom left, when you built us a tree house (and fell in the back of your truck), when you did a back flip and hit your back on a rock trying to save me from drowning in the mountains, when you surprised us with Max, when you drove the bus and every body thought my dad was cool, and so much more!!! You have done SO much for us!

As I get married next year, you’ll always be the first man I ever loved. Thank you for setting standards so high for the guys I dated. It helped me end up with someone as awesome as you. I will always come to you for advice and encouragement. I know I will always carry everything you have taught me. I don’t tell you enough, but I love you SO much more than you know. I think the world of you. You are the best dad I could ever ask for. I thank God every day for you! Happy Father’s Day! I hope you have the best one yet!!!

My dad, Mark Waters, is the absolute best dad in the world. He has been there for me through everything and has always provided for me no matter what. From being my boss and getting me out of trouble to being my coach and winning back-to-back championships he has been the best role model in my life. He has taught me how to be a gentleman and I hope and pray that I will be as much of a man as he is one day.
